Dermalogica Dailyfoliant Face Washes: A Comprehensive Comparison

Years ago, my first introduction to the skincare brand Dermalogica was their bestselling original Daily Microfoliant Exfoliator. This rice-based powder activates when mixed with water was something I have never seen before. When I first learned about this facewash, I automatically just grabbed the Original Daily Microfoliant Exfoliator, but after getting regular facials at Dermalogica in Santa Monica for the last few years, I have learned more about the entire line. They now offer three different types so let’s break them down and see which one would be right for you.

Daily Microfoliant Exfoliator 2.6oz: $66 USD (standard size/ refillable); Refill $59 USD

The O.G. Dailyfoliant

The original Microfoliants job is to exfoliate, brighten and smooth. When activated with water AHAs activate and come alive to polish your skin to perfection. This rice-based powder turns into a foamy smooth texture when you rub your hands together to create this amazing facewash. You control the texture of the wash by the amount of water you personally add, so, when I feel like I am in need of a little extra polish I add less water to make it almost paste like. Bonus points if you leave it on for a few minutes and use it as a mask. Looking to minimize blackheads and the look of dark spots? This is the one for you. It is said to be the #1 selling powder exfoliant in the U.S. for a reason! This one is gentle enough for everyday use. Recommended for all skin types but this one is best for acne prone skin.

Daily Superfoliant

Daily Superfoliant Exfoliator 2.0oz: $66 USD (standard size)

This baby has the same concept but different ingredients. This charcoal-based powder helps draw out impurities and excess oil while red algae and niacinamide combats congested pores and helps fight pollutants with antioxidants. The Superfoliant exfoliates, resurfaces and detoxes the skin to help deliver your smoothest skin ever while helping fight environmental triggers known to speed up that aging process which is a no no over here. This foliant has Lactic Acid to helps smooth texture. This one is best for aging skin, although it can be used on normal, combination and oily skin.

Daily Milkfoliant

Daily Milkfoliant Exfoliator 2.6oz: $66 (standard size)

The newest member to the family is the Milkfoliant which is good for all skin types but best for sensitive skin. This oat-based powder has hyaluronic acid, AHAs and BHAs buffered with coconut milk and oat bran extract which helps exfoliate, calms and restores. This one helps to restore your moisture barrier while gently polishing the skin. This line is best for sensitive skin, but it can be used for all skin types.

Whether you are looking for calming, acne fighting or anti-aging, Dermalogica has you covered!  They have something for everyone in their " Foliant" line as I like to call it.
