Forbidden Apple Fragrance Review: My First Blind Buy Risk That Paid Off | The World of Chris Collins
I blind bought Forbidden Apple by The World of Chris Collins and fell in love. Here's why this apple fragrance keeps selling out & why you need it.
I wasn't planning on developing a new obsession that day. But there it was, an email from Sephora announcing a new fragrance from The World of Chris Collins called Forbidden Apple. The name alone sounded like luxury and temptation had a baby. I clicked instantly because the bottle alone had me intrigued, and when the page finally loaded, I saw the two words every shopper hates to see on their screen: SOLD OUT.
Thee Chris Collins. It’s his world, we are just living in it! photo via @worldofchriscollins via Instagram
I would check Sephora to see if it was in store on my weekly runs, and I was never able to find it. When I would see the tester out on display, it was always bone dry. I stalked their Insta, I signed up for restock text alerts on Sephora.com, and I would frequently check every few days or so to see if maybe, I somehow missed the restock text. This fragrance had me in a chokehold and I have yet to even smell it! When it finally restocked, I didn't think twice. I ordered the travel size ($38) before anyone could talk me out of it. It was my first-ever blind buy for a fragrance; no tester, no sample, no sniff, no nothing. Just me, my debit card, and faith that this apple was worth the bite.
And honestly? It completely paid off.

The Scent Story: Sweet, Sultry, and Unapologetically Addictive
From the very first spray, Forbidden Apple hits! There's this immediate burst of apple and pomegranate that feels bright and juicy, like biting into something that's way too good not to try. But once it settles, underneath the layers of fruity goodness, there's this warm vanilla and brown sugar situation happening that makes it feel less like a fruity fragrance and more like edible luxury.
The whole thing is playful but also kind of dangerous. Sweet, but with actual spice. Basically, Kayali's Eden Juicy Apple is your daytime go-to; you know, the one you wear to brunch with the girls, then Forbidden Apple is her nightlife counterpart. She's the one who shows up in red lipstick and gold hoops, smells expensive, and somehow always ends up with the best seat in the room even though she is over an hour late. Formulated with 20% fragrance oil, this scent will definitely linger from one event to another, lasting until the wee hours of the morning.

The Bottle That Deserves Its Own Close-Up
Even before you spray it, the presentation stops you in your tracks. The deep red glass bottle paired with its gold label reads modern luxury; elegant, bold, and unapologetically striking. Inspired by flasks used during the prohibition era, the design is subtle yet eye catching. It's not the kind of bottle that blends into your vanity. It owns the space.
I started with the travel size, but let's be honest, the full size ($175) has my name written all over it. It's the type of fragrance you reach for before going out, even if you're just spraying it on to feel confident while scrolling through emails. That's how good it is.
Why It Keeps Selling Out
There's a reason Forbidden Apple keeps disappearing from Sephora's shelves and its website. It hits that sweet spot that lands on fruity, warm, and undeniably sexy without trying too hard. It's wearable in everyday moments but distinctive enough that people will take notice. The kind of scent that earns compliments from strangers and makes people lean in just a little closer.
Every spray feels intentional. Refined. Balanced. Chris Collins has a gift for creating fragrances that feel like stories, and Forbidden Apple tells one of confidence, curiosity, and just enough rebellion to keep things…. interesting.
Final Thoughts: The Risk That Paid Off
My first blind buy could have gone sideways in so many ways. Instead, it led me to a fragrance that genuinely feels like me sweet with a little spice, confident and flirty with an unpredictable edge. And yes, I'm rationing it like its liquid gold because I've only worn it a couple of times and I need this to last through winter. (Or at least until I can afford to buy the full size!)
If fruity fragrances with a gourmand twist are your thing, Forbidden Apple deserves a spot on your radar (and your skin). Just be warned, it's called "forbidden" for a reason. Once you experience it, you'll understand why the scent will keep calling your name.
