Icon. Legend. Black Excellence. Dame Patricia Ann McGrath DBE (yes, we will address her in her full glory and with all respect) has just announced her 2024 holiday collection and I will be discussing ALL OF IT! Dame Pat McGrath is the queen of all things glam, and honestly, we are all just trying to play catch up. Muva just dropped her 2024 holiday collection Luminous Legends and it’s more dazzling than a chandelier at The Pinky Ring or, a disco ball at Studio 54 whichever imagery you prefer. As a fan and beauty enthusiast (aka makeup hoarder), I am drooling over the sparkles and shimmer in this lineup. If you are anything like me, you need no excuse to buy more products, especially the amazing high quality of Pat McGrath Labs.  Dame Pat doesn’t do “subtle”; it isn’t in her vocabulary, so expect velvety textures, jaw dropping pigment and enough glitter to outshine your holiday décor. When this was announced on Instagram, I almost broke a nail refreshing my email for the sneak peek. I got the pics, prices and deets straight from patmcgrath.com, so, grab a drink and let us dive into what will surely become your new go to holiday looks!

Luminous Legends: Mega Eye Shadow Palette: $76 USD

Inspired by diamonds and precious gemstones, we already know the shadows are going to hit. If Muva does nothing else, she is going to give you pigmentation. There are four matte shades in this palette for all skin tones surrounded by eleven sparkling jewel tones that are just beautiful. I want it all and I want it NOW! The entire collection I wish it on my vanity, but if I had to pick one single item it would be this simply because these colors are doing the most and I will never turn down sparkle.  Do you not see #6? “It’s not just blue, its not turquoise, its not lapis, its actually cerulean.” CELESTAIL CERULEAN to be exact!

Luminous Legends Eye Shadow Palette- Dawn Divinity: $38 USD

A warm tone matte surrounded by shimmers is going to be the natural look of the holiday season. Five colors come together to give you this warm tone quintet that can be applied wet or dry and are blendable and buildable. Mattes, metallics and shimmers oh my!

Luminous Legends Eye Shadow Palette- Starfall Seduction: $38

Cooler tones prevail in this quintet, and do we not see this pigment?! Jeepers! Muva Pat did her big one with this line up. Not only is purple one of my favorite colors, but next to that rose matte? Chefs kiss.

Couture eye looks are on the menu with these fabulous duos. Wear them alone or both shades together the possibilities are endless, especially when the site states they deliver an even layer of saturated color with one stroke. These are small, adorable and make great stocking stuffers!

Let me start off by saying two of these three shades are currently sold out on Sephora.com which lets you know this mini trio will also sell out. Although these shades are ultra matte you can barely feel them on the lips which I love. I hate when lipsticks feel thick and you can FEEL it on your lips. You can touch up on the go with the mini lipsticks being perfect for that holiday party clutch; one swipe gives you full coverage or you can tap it on with your fingers for a diffused stain effect.

Beautiful Stranger: Coral Rose

Fever Dream: Peach Sienna

Elson: Blue Red

It is nothing like a brown liner and a nude gloss, debate the pavement. This gloss smooths fine lines with a balm like formula. Two traditional nudes for every skin tone.

Dame Pat pairs the Petallic Passion Duo with a mini PermaGel Ultra Glide Eye Pencil to create the perfect wing or a base for the perfect smokey eye. Both shadows can be used wet or dry, worn alone or together for the ultimate holiday look!

So, whether you’re gifting yourself (because let’s be real, you deserve it) or wrapping these up for a fellow beauty addict, the Luminous Legends collection is the holiday splurge. Because who wouldn’t want to ring in the New Year glowing like a diamond? If you don’t see me at a holiday party, it’s because I’m at home, but my face will still be adorned in Pat McGrath’s finest, imagining my face is the new Sistine Chapel of makeup artistry. Until next time, may your cheekbones be sharp, your eyeshadow blend like a dream, and your cart always be full of Pat McGrath!
