Mask Off! My Current Favorite Facemasks!

Masks are my favorite park of my skincare routine.  Not only do they target specific skincare concerns, they force me to relax and slow down for a minute. If I have on a mask, I always make sure to set my timer and lay down while my mask goes to work. Is this necessary? Absolutely not, but masking is a part of my selfcare routine and at that moment nothing else matters. You will never catch me multitasking with a mask on unless a Laker game is on. My phone is on the charger and my door is closed. I will rejoin the world in 30min when all is said and done. I have masks for every one of my skincare concerns, and here are my favorites:

Farmacy Bright On Vitamin C Mask- 1.7oz; $38

I received this mask for Christmas and I absolutely love it. The mask contains AHAs that brighten and detoxes, and it is a vitamin c clay mask. This color changing mask goes from lavender to green when you start to massage it in and the Vitamin C capsules burst. As it dries it does not get that fight feeling which I am not a huge fan of. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling stripped of moisture and although it detoxes, it has not caused me any purging.

OLEHENRIKSEN Cold Plunge Pore Mask-3oz; $38

This is a cooling clay mask that is a beautiful bright color blue. Inspired by the cold plunge that is a part of a Scandinavian sauna cycle this mask is unique in the sense that not only is it a cooling mask, but you also use cool water to lather and wash it off. This mask is said to detoxify and reduce the appearance of pores and control oil. This mask is a fun and instagramable based on the color alone so need to wash this off before that selfie.

Dr. Dennis Gross Blemish Solutions Clarifying Mask with Colloidal Sulfur- 1oz; $28

This technically is an overnight mask, but I only wear it overnight as a spot treatment. This sulfur mask draws out sebum, pollutants, impurities and bacteria overnight, but it is also gentle enough to calm redness and deeply hydrate. It reduces the appearance of pores and minimizes blackheads which is always a plus. This dries down kind of chalky as a face mask, but as a spot treatment I can rub it in enough to where it is invisible.

Urban Skin Rx Acne and Blemish Control Mask- 2.5oz; $22

This mask is just an all around super star! I use this mask when my dark marks are appearing a little darker than usual or if I am coming down from a breakout that has caused a dark mark. This mask absorbs excess oil while niacinamide helps improve the look of your overall skin. A thin layer is all you need so a little does go a long way. It is lightweight and it smells amazing. This is my favorite skincare line at Target period because it is formulated with melanin skin in mind and their products have high concentrated amounts of amazing ingredients.

Farmacy Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask- 4.1oz; $56

This is my all time favorite mask. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.  This warm honey mask delivers so much hydration, especially in the dry colder months. It is infused with essential B Vitamins and it warms up on contact. My skin is left feeling so hydrated it is ridiculous. This mask is always on the shelf and is always on reorder. Even when you have no major skin concerns, who doesn’t love extra hydration? This mask is like Kobe in the 4th; tried, true and reliable. This is my Sunday self-care mask and has been for about a year. If I am feeling extra fancy, I break out the facial steamer with this mask, but not too often, maybe once a month.

It is good to set aside time to pamper your skin because it is our first line of defense in everything. Skincare is an investment, not an expense and if your skin isn’t healthy, try and research why and build a routine. Not everyone skin will be perfect, but imperfect doesn’t necessarily mean unhealthy. Healthy skin will have texture and that is ok. Strive for a healthy skin barrier and the rest will fall into place.
