2020 California Food and Wine Festival Is Here!
Yesterday I got to quickly experience the 2020 Food and Wine Festival at California Adventure before I had to hurry off to work. My friend needed to renew her pass and the festival started last week so I decided to go with her for a quick morning trip. Yes, I switched my shift at work to do so. No, I am not ashamed and will gladly do it again. My friend and I were on a strict schedule so first things first, getting a Sip and Savor Pass. These are passes with 8 tabs and each tab is good for one food offering, not valid on alcohol. I always use them on food and pay for a dessert in cash since those are usually only $5 when the food generally ranges between $7-$9. My favorite thing about the pass is that it is valid the entire length of the festival so just remember to pack it on next park trip if you don’t use all your tabs in one day.
The Food and Wine Festival is meant to showcase Californian cuisine with kiosks set up throughout the park. During the two month festival they usually have cooking seminars with famous chefs, beer and wine tastings, and cooking demonstrations (reservations and additional fee required.). I love when DCA has food festivals because I get an opportunity to try different foods that I would be too chicken to order in a restaurant.
We quicky looked over menus and both wanted things from Cluck-A-Doodle Moo so we decided that was the booth of the day. I tried the French Onion Grilled Beef Tenderloin Slider ($8.50) and she opted for the Ranch Friend Chicken Wings with Buffalo Hot Sauce ($8.00) and I got a Watermelon Rose Lemonade ($5.25). All 3 were amazing of course, so we chose one more booth to visit before leaving. We stopped at Peppers Cali-Ente to split the Ghost Pepper Mac and Cheese with Chili Cheese Corn Chip Dust which I tried like a big girl, but it was just too spicy for my liking.
The weather was perfect for the festival but sadly work had to be done. I did secure the sip and savor pass so I can’t wait to come back in 2 weeks for my annual birthday trip so I can stuff my face! The Sip and Savor Pass was $59 and available at all Food Festival Merch carts and select stores.
