Haunted Mansion Holiday Is Back!
By far, my favorite ride at Disneyland Park is the Haunted Mansion. Each time I get in line, I get excited like I have not been on it a million times. Some rides you ride because it’s going thru the motions, but this is not one of them. Haunted Mansion is a must do for me and that is every single trip. From Madame Leota to Grim Grinning Ghosts to the hiking trio of Gus, Ezra and Phineas, what can be better than this classic ride full of Happy Haunts?? Well I am glad you asked because the answer is simple: Haunted Mansion Holiday!!!
Every September Sandy Claws decks the halls to spread joy throughout the dark and gloomy mansion. The outside is decorated with pumpkins and presents and Jack's sleigh on top of the roof. A Christmas countdown clock hangs on the outside of the house. Inside the ride is bright and colorful with characters and presents totally transforming the dreadful halls and the main attraction is ALWAYS the gingerbread house that sits front and center on the table in the ballroom. The wonderful scent of gingerbread fills the air and you are amazed by the works of the Disneyland Central Bakery. Every year the gingerbread house has a theme, and it is always breathtaking. No idea is too big when it comes to the unsung hero of this ride, and these bakers make jaw dropping presentations year after year.
Jack Skelington transforms into Sandy Clause bringing Oogie Boogie, Zero and Sally along for the ride which is sure to get you excited for Christmas while still respecting the Halloween season that sometimes gets overlooked. Be sure to arrive early for this one, wait times can be up to 2 hours and fast passes go quickly! Although this ride hangs around until early January, the line is consistently long the entire run. Plan accordingly.
